La Mujer Dormida/ The Woman Sleeping. 2022

"Al principio era solo un montón de rocas uniformes en la costa, y luego empezó en mi imaginación a tomar la forma de una mujer. Esta mujer estaba dormida o bien era un instante de su sueño: yo estaba soñando con la mujer o la mujer estaba soñando conmigo?, había una paradoja interesante por descubrir. En diciembre del año anterior empecé a bocetarla pero se volvió muy difusa y compleja. Le sugerí a Mariano Palma que allí había algo, y luego finalmente se sumó el fotógrafo Nicolas Colledani para confirmar la existencia de un suceso nocturno interesante de registrar y abordar. Creo que los 3 nos movemos por eso que se llama la "Dignidad del Hacer" : nos apasiona no tanto el resultado como el proceso. Así que armados de cámaras, proyectores y muchos cables pudimos traer a la vida a esta mujer dormitando en medio de la noche, al menos de manera momentánea y a través de la magia de la luz.

La Mujer Dormida constituye nuestra primera cápsula de video del año, en esto que denominamos la * Naturaleza del Ruido: una serie de intervenciones lumínicas en la naturaleza de la Patagonia."

At first it was just a pile of uniform rocks on the shore, and then it began in my imagination to take the shape of a woman. This woman was asleep or it was an instant of her dream: I was dreaming of the woman or the woman was dreaming of me? There was an interesting paradox to discover. In December of the previous year I began to sketch it but it became very diffuse and complex. I suggested to Mariano Palma that there was something there, and then finally @nicolledani joined to confirm the existence of an interesting night event to record and address. I think the 3 of us are moved by what is called the "Dignity of Doing": we are passionate not so much about the result as about the process. So armed with cameras, projectors and lots of cables we were able to bring this woman dozing in the middle of the night to life, at least momentarily and through the magic of light. 

The Sleeping Woman constitutes our first video capsule of the year, in what we call the * Nature of Noise: a series of light interventions in the nature of Patagonia.
